STUNNED dad Richard Wearn was ordered by his council to remove pot(ted) plants outside his home – in case they fell over and hurt someone.
Officials then relented and said the 3ft plants could stay if he signed a legal agreement that the council could not be sued.
Richard, 40, said yesterday: “I was just trying to brighten the area up. I don’t know why the council’s making a fuss.”
Portsmouth City Council, which owns the land outside his house, insisted: “We have to protect council taxpayers’ money from such claims.”
